The Mount Pleasant Hotel is a lovely grade II listed historic building. However we recognise that older buildings can present additional challenges for those guest with reduced mobility, or who has hearing or vision therefore have included this section of information to help you when considering a stay with us.

Car Parking & Entrance
We have a large carpark within the hotel grounds. There are a few shallow steps up to the front door. You are welcome to park directly at the start of these step when you arrive. Assistance with you luggage is always available from your car to your room. We would ask that you would then move your car to a designated parking bay.
Ground Floor Public Areas
Once inside the hotel main entrance there is level access to the reception & dining room. There are two shallow steps up to lounge. All are carpeted and well lit. We have toilets on our ground floor
Bedroom Access & Accommodation
The hotel does not have lift access to its upper floor bedrooms. Of the hotels 17 bedrooms 3 are on the ground floor, of which two have access off the main hallway via a single small step, 9 are on the first floor & the remaining 5 are on the second floor. We do not have adapted bathrooms but many are fitted with grab rails. All have non slip mats provided.
Of our ground floor rooms one is a double bedded room with shower over a full size bath, One is a twin bedded room with shower over a full size bath and one is available as a super kingsize or twin bedded room with a walk in shower (please not the shower in this room has a step into it) this room has carpeted level access.
Bedroom access to the first and second floors are via a wide dog-legged stair case with hand rails to one side. The stair well benefits from natural light and lamps with additional light provided by push buttons at each entrance to the stair well.

Guests with visual or hearing impairment
We have a hearing loop at reception. We don't offer any other specific arrangements for guest with visual or hearing impairments but will do our very best to assist. Please advise at the time of booking any personal requirements. We are more than happy to allow guide dogs access to any part of the hotel without charge.
